System for Senior Citizens in Europe
Objectivo: Criar um sistema de aprendizagem à distância que seniores, sem qualquer tipo de experiencia, consigam aprender numa hora e implementar o sistema de forma a atrair um elevado número de utilizadores. O sistema de aprendizagem à distância será extremamente simples de utilizar e, trabalhará em dispositivos de touchscreen como os tablets e telemóveis.
Create a distance learning system that senior citizens with no previous computer experience can learn in 1 hour and implementing it in a way that attracts a large number of users and content providers. The distant learning system will be extremely simple to use, and it will run on mobile touchscreen devices such as tablets and smartphones.
Descrição/ Description: O sistema de aprendizagem à distância funcionará em dispositivos móveis e tem como público alvo os cidadãos seniores. Pode, contudo, ser utilizado por qualquer pessoa que esteja interessada na aprendizagem à distância. O sistema irá funcionar num formato intuitivo e inovador de micro unidades que utilizará diferentes formatos e interactividade media. As micro unidades terão conteúdos que preenchem apenas um ecrã e o utilizador poderá aprender um determinado tema em apenas 15 minutos. O Sistema de Aprendizagem à Distância OPALESCE irá promover um cenário em que qualquer pessoa poderá aceder a um sistema que, não só ensinará o básico sobre o uso de smartphones e tablets mas também providenciará uma ferramenta de aprendizagem contínua.
The distance learning system will run on mobile devices and is focused on the senior citizens as main users, although it will we accessible to anyone interested in distance learning.
The system will work in an innovative micro unit format and will use different media formats and interactivity as well as it will be designed to be used intuitively. The micro units will contain learning content that will fill only one screen and will permit the user to learn about one subject in 15 minutes. The user may change page anytime by swiping the screen forward or backwards depending on their needs.
OPALESCE distance learning system will create a situation in which disadvantaged groups will not only have easy access to a system that teaches them the basics of using mobile phones or tablets, but also provides them with a tool for continuous lifelong learning despite their mobility issues.
